Richard J Dolmat
President & CEO
Richard has been running Digital Sound Magic Recording Studios Ltd. for over 23 years. He’s very proud to be the recipient of numerous awards and accolades throughout his long and successful career. He speaks English, Japanese and some Polish which makes it a great advantage over other studios when providing services for clients around the world. After expanding to become a multi-national corporation, and with a world-wide network of partners, Richard is ready to lead Digital Sound Magic to greater services for their global clientele.
Karilynne is originally from Victoria, BC. As COO, she coordinates the daily operations of our studio and staff, and communicates with clients from all over the world. She has an in-depth knowledge of the television, film, and game industries which allows her to predict trends and easily navigate projects. As a working voice talent herself, she also has a thorough understanding of all angles of production and takes pride in the high standards she expects not only of herself but of everyone she works with.
Director of Operations
Guillermo has always loved music and video games. He has been a guitar player since youth, as well as an avid gamer. After taking a Post Production program, he decided to combine both passions into a very exciting career in game audio, designing and implementing sounds to help clients realize their creative vision. Guillermo is ready and willing to put his skills to use for you. If he’s not at DSM, you’ll probably find him running in some park, playing video games, or just jamming.
Chief Audio Officer
Armed with a diploma in Post & Game Audio Production and a strong passion for all things audio, Liam brings his exceptional skillset, expertise and enthusiasm to every project he works on. His daily tasks include supervising & collaborating on all audio aspects of every project, creating and implementing workflows, maintaining and repairing the studios/equipment, and managing audio software/plugins.
Chief Talent Coordinator
Danii is armed with many years of voice over and broadcasting training and experience. She has a keen eye for talents vocal strengths, agency procedure, and powerful demos to ensure the best results for talent AND clients!
She prides herself on her exceptional organization and dedication to a job well done, while still maintaining a perfect level of fun: the best motivator!
Have a super awesome project and want to partner with our company? You’ll probably be in contact with Amanda first! In the industry herself, Amanda is well versed with the ins and outs of the business, making your initial contact with the studio as smooth as possible! Daily tasks include handling incoming inquires, managing DSM’s social media accounts, and making sure our clients and staff are well fed! When Amanda isn’t at the studio, you can catch her teaching singing lessons, planning her next travel destination, or hiking a mountain!
Sean grew up in the beautiful province of New Brunswick. Now living on the opposite coast of the country, he makes sure to bring East Coast vibes and French culture to all of his work. Sean’s detailed approach to a script comes from his many years of studying theatre at schools in Ottawa and Vancouver. His work has been seen on stages all across North America and his voice can be heard all around the world.
Chris is passionate about two things in life, people and audio. Chris hails from Kamloops, BC with a passion for sound design and all things audio. You can find Chris around the studio answering questions, recording voice talent, designing outlandish sounds for the latest game or film, and working with the audio team to make projects shine.
Originally from Alberta, Daniel moved to Vancouver in pursuit of a career in the entertainment industry. After attending Nimbus School of Recording, he landed a job at Digital Sound Magic to diversify his skills as an audio engineer outside of music. Day to day, Daniel works on numerous projects, exercising a full arsenal of engineering knowledge. As a senior engineer, he is an expert on all ongoing projects and is responsible for the development of new engineers with the support of his colleagues.
Sharon is a multilingual sound girl originally from Taiwan. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in language arts, she decided to follow her passion for music and dive into the magical world of sound. Now armed with an education from Nimbus School of Recording, she is ready and willing to make you sound good.
Brent is a self-proclaimed nerd for all things related to audio: be it in film, TV, video games, or any other medium. This passion led him to study Post & Game Audio at Nimbus School of Recording after graduating from UBC with a Bachelors of Kinesiology. He draws from both his theatre experience and years as a drummer to keep each session moving smoothly like the rhythm to a song. He’s a powerful combination of talented engineer, easy to work with director, and creative sound designer.
Kerthekan "Kit" Balasubramaniam
Kerthekan is a Sound passionate from Germany. After his Bachelor in Sound and Music Production and working in the German industry he came to Canada to absolve his Diploma in Sound Design for Visual Media, where he followed his dream in sound editing, designing, and 5.1 mixing. When he is not tied to his chair he is field recording and working on his Sound Libraries.
Jason has always expressed a keen interest in film and gaming. After an intensive career in recording and producing music, Jason decided to marry his passions for Film / Gaming and quality audio recordings. At Vancouver Film School, he discovered an immediate passion for working with Voice Over talent and taking their performance to the next level. Jason is a Recording Engineer, Editor, and overall FUN GUY! at Digital Sound Magic. When he isn’t working, you can find him composing, gaming, or nerding out over a 90’s television drama.
Head of Happiness
Being the Head of Happiness, Emma understands the importance of mental health in the workplace. She loves to make everyone smile and is always ready to lend a paw to anyone who needs a little help. While she technically works for DSM on a volunteer basis, she has asked us to add that, when possible, belly rubs are always appreciated.
