Our TeamThe great people who make your recordings great!
Richard J Dolmat
This is Richard. He’s been running the place for almost 20 years. He’s also very humble, even if he did win numerous awards and accolades throughout his long and successful career. If you have problems with any of the other staff just come to Richard and he’ll straighten them out for you. He also tends to overuse exclamation points in his emails. When he’s not whipping the staff into shape he’s dreaming of owning a Tesla Model S. Watch our CEO on CTV giving expert audio advice.
Jenny has brilliant ideas and bakes a mean cookie! Jenny’s love of organizing makes her a great fit for the role of producer and creative director. Her superior editing skills and copywriting experience also bring added punch and saleability to any written material. Jenny also helps clients with their presentations by guiding the performances of company leaders and actors.
Joanne originally hails from Bristol, England. There she studied Theatre Arts, Communication Studies, and how to speak English good at South Bristol College. Not only did this create a love for performance but also helped Joanne hone her already stellar communication skills. This is where she discovered her talent for managing people and organizing productions. That’s when we decided to kidnap her and use her mad skills to keep our recording studio organized and on schedule.
Engineer / Producer
Cody is a music industry professional who has been working and living in Vancouver for the past three years. He has had the opportunity to mentor under some of the industry’s top producers, including Garth Richardson, Warne Livesey, and Shawn Cole. He can grow a beard in a few hours. Along with the rest of the crew, Cody has helped make Digital Sound Magic one of the top voice over production companies in the nation.
Engineer / Producer
Connor is another one of our great engineers. He’s a graduate of the Arts Institute in Vancouver and is currently studying at UBC. He’s also an awesome musician. He started playing the violin at age 3 and can rip up the dance floor with his fiddling. When he’s not in the recording studio, he’s playing bass in a successful touring band across North America. He likes his plaid shirts and has the curliest hair since Napoleon Dynamite.
David got his start making cat videos when he was 8. Since then, his cat videos have gotten a bit better. His career has brought him from the slopes of Whistler covering for the 2010 Olympic broadcasting services, to the streets of Vancouver reporting for the Globe and Mail. Luckily he had insurance for his gear when covering the Olympics, it’s sure hard to run that fast along the bobsled track.
Jason Nickel is a highly sought after Vancouver-based jazz/funk and rock bassist and award-winning composer with multiple film and TV credits to his name. Although his name is Nickel, he’s worth millions (in our opinion). In 2000, he partnered with Richard and their catchy tunes have been featured in countless TV shows and films around the world. He can slappa da bass with the best of them.
Head of Happiness
Being the Head of Happiness, Guinness is happy even when he’s sleeping. If you don’t want to play with him, he doesn’t care. He’ll keep nudging you until you give in. And then you’ll be his best friend in the world (until he gets hungry. Then he’ll just walk away).
