Digital Sound Magic Recording Studio owner Richard Dolmat is a Vancouver based producer, composer and engineer. Along with his writing partner (Jason Nickel), he has recorded, composed and produced over 400 songs for a wide variety of artists, feature films, documentaries, radio, and record labels.

 

His original compositions have been featured in films such as August Rush, starring Robin Williams (Warner Bros.), The Donald Trump Biographical Movie, (ABC), and TV programs such as Malcolm in the Middle, (Fox TV), Ugly Betty, (ABC), My Name Is Earl, (NBC), Access Hollywood, (NBC), The Richard Branson Biography, (A&E), and Life with Derek, (Disney Channel).

 

Corporate clients include MasterCard, Pfizer, Starbucks, Michelin, Cadbury Chocolate, Belair Travel, Vonage, Canadian Tire, BC Dairy Foundation and Government of Canada.

 

Internationally, he has produced music and sound effects for large-scale multi-media installations such as The German Pavilion at EXPO 2000 in Hanover, Germany, and various remixes for Mercury Records and EMI Records, as well as completing several full-length feature film mixes.

 

He has worked along side Randy Bachman, Bruce Fairbairn, Paul Silveira and received praises from Scott Mathews (producer: Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Van Morrison) and publications such as Exclaim!, The Georgia Straight and The Vancouver Sun.

 

His nominations include Western Canadian Music Awards’ Independent Album of the Year Award (Produced by Richard Dolmat) Western Canadian Music Awards’ Outstanding Instrumental Recording Award (Mastered by Richard Dolmat) and twice won the Hong Kong Dance Competition’s Best Music Award (Produced by Richard Dolmat).
